Monofilament Yarn
Monofilament yarn is a fine filament used for upper stitching. Made of nylon, polyester or polyamide, it is slim and abrasion-resistant, suitable for fine stitching and maintaining the structural integrity of the upper. Its high strength makes it resistant to breakage and ensures a strong upper. The softness and breathability of the monofilament thread makes the upper comfortable and durable, and not easy to be deformed by moisture. It can be used for all kinds of shoes to enhance the quality and appearance of shoes.

Feature
The advantages of YM THREAD ‘s monofilament yarn
1、High transparency: Due to its single long filament structure, monofilament yarn exhibits a high degree of transparency, allowing light to pass through it and creating a clear and transparent appearance. This unique characteristic makes monofilament yarn highly suitable for applications that require transparency, such as in the fishing industry, as well as in footwear and clothing industries.
2、Excellent wear resistance and strength: The monofilament yarn is composed of continuous long filaments, giving it superior wear resistance and strength. This attribute enables the yarn to withstand significant mechanical stress, making it less prone to wear or breakage.
3、Smooth surface: Thanks to its continuous long filament structure, monofilament yarn has a very smooth surface, which helps to reduce friction and resistance. This characteristic makes monofilament yarn ideal for applications that require low friction and resistance, such as rope, netting, and filtering applications./4、Good elasticity: Monofilament yarn typically exhibits a certain degree of elasticity, allowing it to deform under external forces and return to its original shape when the force is removed. This property makes monofilament yarn well-suited for applications that require elasticity, such as clothing, jewelry, and other accessories.

What is monofilament yarn?
Monofilament yarnis typically made from high molecular polymers (such as nylon, polyester, etc.). It is formed by a single long filament that is continuously extended, without any noticeable fiber gaps. This special structure gives monofilament yarn its transparent appearance.
The manufacturing process of monofilament yarn is relatively complex. First, the raw materials of high molecular polymers undergo melting or dissolution, and then form into long thin fibers through the extrusion holes. These fibers are cooled and stretched during the formation process to achieve the desired shape and performance. Subsequently, these long filament fibers undergo further processing and treatment to form continuous monofilament yarn.
What is the difference between polyester yarn and acrylic yarn
1、Specific Gravity: The specific gravity of acrylic yarn is 1.14, while that of polyester yarn is 1.38. This means that for the same weight of yarn, the length of acrylic yarn will be longer.
2、Shape Retention: Acrylic yarn has relatively poor shape retention and is prone to deformation, while polyester yarn has good shape retention, resisting wrinkles and retaining a crisp appearance with better dimensional stability.
3、Ironing Temperature: The heat resistance of acrylic yarn is not as good as that of polyester yarn. The ironing temperature for acrylic yarn should be controlled below 140 degrees, while that for polyester yarn can be around 180 degrees.
4、Strength and Abrasion Resistance: Acrylic yarn has good strength and abrasion resistance, with strong elastic recovery ability, better dyeability or moisture absorption compared to polyester yarn.
5、Hand Feel: Acrylic yarn has a smooth hand feel with a high gloss, while the hand feel of polyester yarn is relatively poor.
6、Applications: Polyester yarn is widely used in clothing, home furnishing, decoration and other fields due to its excellent properties such as high strength, impact resistance, heat resistance, corrosion resistance, moth resistance and acid resistance but not alkali resistance. Acrylic yarn is often used in the production of sweaters, knitted goods and other items due to its soft and fluffy texture and bright colors.
In summary, acrylic yarn and polyester yarn have their own unique characteristics, and the choice depends mainly on specific needs.
